Breu-Branco resin (Protium heptaphyllum) is a tree that occurs in dry forests and is native to most of Brazil.

The resin consists of large concentrations of monoterpenes, such as α-pyrene, α-phellandrene, limonene, and terpinolene. Limonene is the main component in fragrances and essences.

• It has antioxidant, anticonvulsant, deodorant, antibacterial, antiviral, antiasthmatic, decongestant, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, healing, cellular regenerator, carminative, and antispasmodic properties.

•  It has psychological properties like anti-melancholic, neurosedative, antidepressant, refreshing, soothing, relaxing, sedative, tranquilizing, toning, and balancing.

• It may help with insomnia, mood swings, cough, asthmatic bronchitis, snoring, nervous excitement, stress, anxiety, anguish, irritability (frustration), headaches, migraine, colds, flu, sore throats; bug bite
